Oilers make roster move and send key player down to the minors
Moments ago, the Edmonton Oilers made a roster move to send down Dylan Holloway to the AHL.
Holloway's just coming back now from spending nearly two months sidelined with injury, and has only played in the last four games with the Oilers since his return. Instead of taking off some more time during the all-star game and the upcoming bye-week, the Oilers are sending Holloway down to continue to get ice time, instead of taking a break.
It's the appropriate decision based on Holloway's injury situation, and also gives the added benefit of accruing more daily cap space for the Oilers to use at the deadline.
After the team returns to regular action after the bye-week, expect Holloway to be called up and return to his role around the bottom six.
