In his recent interview with the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, Wayne Gretzky was surprisingly candid about a wide variety of things in his career - including talking about his least favourite thing about the Edmonton Oilers.

Of course, Wayne Gretzky came into the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers in 1979, and went on to have a legendary career with the Oilers and build his legacy as the greatest player of all time. Gretzky set several offensive records with the Oilers and won four Stanley Cups with the team. So when Wayne talked about his least favourite thing about Edmonton, it was still endearing to the Oilers.

After leaving Edmonton by trade in 1988, Gretzky said it was hard to play the Oilers any time they had to face off, because he still felt himself to be an Oiler at heart. Having that kind of success with a team, growing and living in the city, has given Wayne a special connection to Edmonton even to this day.

It's fantastic to see the Great One continue to spread his legacy by taking on interviews such as these, with podcasters broadcasting to a younger generation. This way, every hockey fan will forever know how great Wayne Gretzky truly was.
