It's been several years since Jordan Eberle dawned an Edmonton Oilers jersey as he was traded from the team to the New York Islanders in exchange for Ryan Strome in 2017. Many felt that there was some unfinished business with both parties, and it appeared a reunion could've happened. Sadly for the Oilers and fans who would've loved to see Eberle back, he's now officially signed a two year contract with Seattle.

Both Frank Seravalli and Elliotte Friedman mentioned over the past several hours that there maybe an Eberle back to Edmonton pipeline as the trends continued to grow. It came down to the wire between Eberle signing an extension with Seattle, otherwise he was likely headed to Edmonton.

The 33-year-old right winger who was selected 22nd overall in the 2008 entry draft by the Oilers has had stints with the New York Islanders and his current team the Seattle Kraken. Many have felt that he may have wanted to sign elsewhere and that the Oilers are were the option for him.

The team he left is certainly not the team they are now and with the Oilers loading up with the additions of Adam Henrique, Sam Carrick along with Troy Stecher in addition to the superstars they have it seems that Eberle to the Oilers would've been a great fit to help bolster their offence some more. He'll be a great player for the Kraken in the next two years.
