Connor McDavid gives an Oscar-Worthy performance in hilarious new video

Connor McDavid is clearly the best player in the world, which gathers plenty of attention across the world of sports. With that attention comes the need to participate in media and advertising offers. Unfortunately for McDavid and most hockey players however, they're all awful actors.

McDavid has been known to be a bit awkward with media and ads earlier in his career, but in a recent ad with Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonette, McDavid actually had a great performance in a hilarious video.

In the video, McDavid calls former Oiler and Spittin Chiclets' host Ryan Whitney, labelled in his contacts as his ex, and the two have a brief back and forth joking about Whitney renouncing the Oilers earlier this season when they were struggling. Whitney apologizes profusely for not believing in McDavid and the Oilers, and McDavid offers him an invitation to the team. Whitney freaks out before he finds out it's not the Oilers, but a sponsorship instead. Later, Bissonette appears in the video, and McDavid roasts him as the biggest clown on the internet.

Even though it's an ad, it's a hilarious comedy sketch as well involving the greatest player on the Oilers with the two biggest media personalities in hockey - and it turned out perfectly. The 2025 Oscar for best athlete performance is a lock to be McDavid.
