Managing Viktor Arvidsson Injury Will Have Major Affect on Edmonton Oilers Roster
Edmonton Oilers forward Viktor Arvidsson is dealt with an injury this season that made him miss over a month, but now he's back in the lineup and being an impact player.
Arvidsson was initially listed as day to day at one point, then went on to miss 15 games with an undisclosed injury.
Through his career, Arvidsson has been a player that's dealt with repeated injury problems - only playing more than 66 games three times in his eleven year career.
However, when he can remain healthy, he's been a difference maker in his career, and now he's doing it with Edmonton. Arvidsson now has four points in his last three games, on fire since returning from injury.
Arvidsson's Success When Healthy Paying Off After Injury Frustration
Arvidsson has been billed as an injury prone player, and early in the season, wasn't productive offensively either.
The Oilers forward even admitted that he had been playing through an issue for a few weeks, and it was stifling his level of play. Coach Knoblauch also revealed that had Arvidsson not taken extra time to rest, he would've played through injury all year.
»Obviously it didn't quite heal the way we wanted to and it took a little bit longer, but I think we did the right thing on fully recovering and then not being an issue throughout the year."
- Coach Knoblauch
After adequately resting and healing, it's great to see he's productive again.
It will be a major key to the Oilers season to keep him healthy and producing in the lineup, especially if he keeps up his current scoring.
It was extremely frustrating for the Oilers to see Arvidsson's «injury prone-ness» hold him out for some time, but now that he's back, his play is making it look worth the wait.
