During a recent podcast of Oilersnations Everyday, it was revealed that the Edmonton Oilers could be trading partners with the lowly Chicago Blackhawks.

It was revealed a possible trade between the Oilers and the Blackhawks involving defenseman Connor Murphy was discussed and some felt that he could be a defenseman the Oilers could use.

Daily faceoff CEO Frank Seravalli poured some cold water on this idea as Murphy's game has been exposed as of late and has issues that could prevent a trade.

Seravalli also brought up the idea of a trade for Taylor Hall. The former first overall pick by the Oilers who was a recent healthy scratch, could become available near the trade deadline as the Blackhawks are continuing their rebuild phase and will start trading off some of their older veterans to recuperate draft picks and prospects.

The Oilers and the Blackhawks have all kinds of connections to one another including General Manager Stan Bowman who was the GM for the Blackhawks for many years. It's likely both teams can find common ground even though Bowman resigned due to a terrible situation.

Both teams have assets that they could trade with as the Oilers are looking for more consistency especially in their defence corps and secondary scoring which has dried up this year.

The Blackhawks have several veteran players who could be available by general manager Kyle Davidson, but it remains to be seen on whether he will part with them or hang on to them till the end of the year.

It's likely he will move them as the Blackhawks continued to deepen their talent pool with many draft picks in the first 3 rounds again this season.

The Oilers, meanwhile, will continue to find stability and consistency in their game and build off their latest win after defeating the New York Rangers 6-2 last weekend.
