Many fans began to question why McDavid was not present even though he played in last night's game. But it was clarified shortly after that McDavid was suffering from an illness and he was unable to participate in the skills competition.

It was a full house in Rogers Place as the Oilers took part in their yearly event which gives the fans a chance to see the skills on an individual level aside the team level as they saw last night.

One player who has shown his speed since coming over from waivers is Jasperi Kapanen who was clocked around 40 kilometres an hour at his peak speed.

Clarified that McDavid couldn't make it due to illness.

The Oilers gave their full effort last night as they did all they could against the Toronto Maple Leafs and we're just a few shots shy of 50 on the season. The Maple Leafs were down to 5 defensemen as Oliver Ekman Larsson left the game early and put the Leafs at a major disadvantage.

Unfortunately, Corey Perry met up with a red-hot Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll robbed them of a sure goal at the end of the game along with a callback go against Leon Draisaitl as newcomer defenseman John Klingberg was deemed offside.

Someone needs to make a montage of McDavid hating Leafs/Toronto «Toronto: Great place to leave» «No one to visit. My family moved away» «Have to change schedules for them» Not sure what happened to him growing up near there but it's funny to watch

Three games remain before NHL goes on a long break

The Oilers have three games remaining in their schedule before the Four Nations face off break begins with two games on the road and one at home.

The team hopes to regain control of the Pacific division as they have lost two in a row and will face off against the St Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche.

The Blues game will take place on February 4th and game time will be 8:00 PM eastern.
