Edmonton Oilers sell hilarious hat for Corey Perry's cross check bait
Corey Perry is slowing down at 39 years old, but he's still the pest he's always been. Now, the Oilers new merch is leaning into Perry's best playoff pest moment this year.
The Oilers store in Rogers Place is seeing a stock of new items before the third round of the playoffs open in Edmonton on Monday night, and one hilarious hat is harkening back to Corey Perry's cross check bait against Brock Boeser.
The Oilers had previously sold a hat comparing Perry to a television character called Perry the Platypus, but now have updated it to see the Platypus with the cross check baiting that Corey Perry did.
Along with the hat, there's also a new shirt released with Perry's cross check, depicting Perry with the text �Thou Shall Not Pass'.
It's a fantastic and hilarious addition to the Oilers store, and commemorates the best playoff pest moment he's had with the Oilers. Unfortunately now Perry has simply slowed down too much, and now has been healthy scratched four games straight for better options on the fourth line. Still, his veteran presence is likely playing a factor in the locker room, and he can be an instrumental leader off the ice for the Oilers playoff run.
Tonight the Oilers will look to steal a second road win against the Dallas Stars, and if they can do so, they will have a prime opportunity to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final.
