Victor Arvidsson left last night's Oilers game in clear discomfort after making a fantastic shot block, and thankfully, he did not suffer a major injury.

Oilers fans were fairly concerned for Arvidsson after the shot block, given his lengthy injury history.

Oilers analyst reveals update on Victor Arvidsson injury after shot block

According to a new update from Daniel Nugent-Bowman of the Athletic, Arvidsson did sustain an injury on the play, but it's «believed to be not too serious.»

It's certainly a positive update for Arvidsson and the Oilers, but sounds like he still may miss a game or two with a minor issue.

Any positive update would be a result of medical imaging not showing a major problem, but Nugent-Bowman did say that the Oilers are still on their road trip - perhaps they don't have imaging yet.

Arvidsson made a fantastic play late in the third period to make an aggressive shot block and pursue a breakaway right afterwards. After blocking the shot on his right leg, he was in clear discomfort while skating.

Arvidsson Can Be Key Player For Oilers Through Injury Concerns

Oilers fans can be a little paranoid about the health status of Arvidsson after he missed a month due to an undisclosed injury that began as a day-to-day problem.

There's real concerns about him being an injury prone player given his history, but when he was in the lineup and healthy for the last few weeks.

Arvidssom was firing on all cylinders with Leon Draisaitl, scoring 10 points in his last 12 games, including the first goal in last night's incredible comeback win.

When he's in the lineup and healthy, Arvidsson looks to be an incredible fit in the Oilers lineup and a player that will surely help them in the playoffs. The team just needs to put in him bubble wrap until the playoffs.
