Just a few hours ago, Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane took to Instagram to announce his engagement to Mara Teigen.

It's fantastic news to hear that Kane is in love, personally thriving off the ice, tying the knot. Evander and Mara just welcomed their second son to the world this summer, and have a one year old boy as well. Evander also has a three year old daughter with his ex-wife, Anna Kane.

The Oilers players had the best offence in the league last season and they've even been scoring off the ice this summer. Connor McDavid got married to Lauren Kyle, Leon Draisaitl got engaged to his girlfriend Celeste Desjardins, and now Evander Kane is following too.

Heading into the upcoming season, there's plenty of questions about Kane's status on the team. Multiple sources have reported that Kane is dealing with an injury that may require surgery, and could miss a significant portion of the year on long-term injured reserve. Earlier this week, General Manager Stan Bowman said the team will have another medical update on Kane's recovery timeline this week.

Kane is under contract for the next two seasons at $5.125M, and it's been speculated that the Oilers could look to trade him to reallocate his salary in the next year. This season Kane has a full No-Move Clause, and next season it becomes a modified no-trade list. The 33 year old veteran power forward has played the last three years with the Edmonton Oilers, and has played 930 career games with four other teams in his career. No matter what happens next, Oilers fans will be wishing the best for Evander Kane, and are thrilled to see him doing well off the ice.
