The Edmonton Oilers appear to have one or two more moves remaining in their belt as the roster as the team continues to spend the $5.125 million of long-term injured reserve money from Evander Kane.

The Oilers have been busy over the last couple of days as they have traded for Max Jones and Trent Frederic, along with their biggest acquisition in defenseman Jake Walman from the San Jose Sharks.

Oilers Stan Bowman looking for more help before Friday

With the moves that had been made between Frederic, Jones and now Walman, the team has $1.2 million of cap space remaining to spend before 3:00 PM tomorrow.
With their defense core changed with Walman's arrival, the Oilers may look at the forward position for help.
There are still many players out there that will interest Bowman and his coaching staff as the Oilers are looking to enhance their secondary scoring along their bottom six forwards.
One such player that may interest the Oilers is Chicago Blackhawks Ryan Donato. He has garnered quite a bit of attention as he is having a career year with the Blackhawks considering his team is one of the worst in the league.
The 28-year-old center who was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2014, second round 56th overall has played 60 games for the Blackhawks this year and has scored 23 goals with 23 assists for 46 points which is by far a career year for his standards.

A familiar face could be heading to the Oilers

If the Oilers are focusing on their bottom 6, another player and former Oiler who will be linked to the team is Nick Bjugstad. He is currently in the last year of his deal holding the cap hit of $2.1 million with the Utah hockey club.
This season, he has played 53 games scoring five goals with 10 assists for 15 points and has 12 penalty minutes. Adding him back to the Oilers lineup would certainly bolster the bottom 6 and he would likely cost 2.1 million or less especially if Utah would use some retention money.
The next 12 to 24 hours are going to be an interesting time for the Oilers organization as Bowman continues to work the phones and continues to improve his team and so far, it seems he's done so.
