Back in the second round of the 1995 NHL draft, the Edmonton Oilers selected Georges Laraque from Montreal, Quebec. Laraque went on to play eight season with the Oilers from 1997-2006, and made a name for himself as one of the best enforcers of his generation. Now still living in the Edmonton area, Laraque's son is gaining serious attention in minor hockey.

At just 14 years old, Marcus Laraque is tearing up his respective leads on the scoresheet and with his monstrous size for his age - already measuring 6'4, and last listed at 181 pounds.

He's certainly got the size from his father, and at that age in hockey, it's certainly a reason he's absolutely dominating the competition. In 22 games with HC Edmonton in the under 15 JPHL, Laraque scored 35 points and 67 penalty minutes, which has led to him moving up to the under 18 league recently.

He's still many years away from even having a shot at an NHL draft, and still likely needs to show more offensive promise, but it's extremely awesome to see Marcus Laraque take the ice looking like a younger version of his legendary dad. All Oilers fans, along with Georges, will be cheering Marcus on if he wants to pursue the NHL.
