Lightning's Sergachev stretchered off the ice after horrific injury
Moments ago, Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Mikhail Sergachev was stretchered off the ice after a horrifying looking ankle injury. When going into the boards awkwardly with Rangers' forward Alex Lafreniere, Sergachev's ankle snapped all the way backwards, leaving him screaming in pain on the ice. Shortly after, he was stretchered off.
All Lightning and Rangers players stood still and waited to see if Sergachev was okay. While on his way off, Sergachev was completely covering his face, clearly in pain and emotional from suffering such a gruesome injury.
We all wish Sergachev the best in what could be a lengthy recovery. He'll be under the best medical care possible with the Lightning, and hopefully can return before the playoffs this season.
