Earlier today, TSN's Rick Westhead broke yet another story of a hockey player being under investigation. According to Westhead, Canucks' draft pick Connor Lockhart is under investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service. As a result, he's been suspended indefinitely from his OHL team, the Oshawa Generals.

The CHL released the following statement on Lockhart's suspension:

On February 6, 2024, the Oshawa Generals and the Ontario Hockey League were made aware that one player, Connor Lockhart, is under investigation by Durham Regional Police Service. He has been indefinitely suspended by the team and the League until the matter is resolved. This follows the team and League suspending Lockhart following a League and team Code of Conduct matter.

The statement nor Westhead have confirmed what the subject matter of the investigation is at this point.

Lockhart is 21 years old, and was selected by the Canucks in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft. Lockhart had not been signed by the Canucks to an entry level contract, so he's technically not part of the organization - the Canucks just own his rights.
