At Oilers morning skate today, Coach Knoblauch confirmed there would be one lineup change, but did not specify what the move would be.

Knoblauch did specify that Corey Perry will remain in the lineup after being forced to leave for some time with an injury in game 5. Judging by an optional morning skate today, Oilers reporters believe that Sam Carrick will come out of the lineup in place for Derek Ryan.

This is beginning to look like a pattern for Knoblauch and the Oilers for their deployment at home and on the road. On the road, Knoblauch seems to prefer more speed and youth from Sam Carrick, but when the matchups are more controllable on home ice, he can insert the veteran Derek Ryan and feel confident about it.

Tonight, the Edmonton Oilers will have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in the Connor McDavid era. On home ice the Oilers will have every advantage they possibly can, and now they just need to go and execute their best game possible. Stuart Skinner said they'll be leaning on the energy from the fans tonight, as they'll need every push possible to eliminate a hardened Stars team.

This year's Oilers team truly feels different compared to last years. The team is closer than ever, playing confident hockey deep into the playoffs, and look like they can't be denied by any opponent so far. Tonight, they need to bear down, and seize what's ahead of them.
