It was a hilarious scene during the latest episode of Oilers Mic'd Up when defenseman Evan Bouchard chirps back to his teammate Leon Draisaitl being named several German nicknames.

The scene plays out where Draisaitl keeps dropping German nicknames towards Bouchard in which he walks out of the dressing room with a stoic face and saying nothing.

Bouchard then chirps a comeback to Draisaitl which causes him to fake laugh and reaction as it was a good comeback while shaking his head after Bouchard leaves the dressing room.

This video clearly shows that the Oilers are in a good mood these days as the team has found its winning ways and has risen in the standings significantly and currently sits third overall in the Pacific division.

Oilers Head East For Their Road Trip

Winners of the last three games and defeating the Seattle Kraken 4-2 on Saturday January 4th certainly gives the Oilers a boost in their road trip as it switches to the East Coast when they take on the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.

Bouchard has factored in four of his last five games where he has one goal and four assists.

Currently in a contract year, many felt that Bouchard would come out of the gate flying as he is trying to play for his next deal but 39 games, he has scored seven goals with 23 assists for 30 points and is a + 10 which is far lower than he had last year.

Draisaitl is continuing his torrid pace as he has five goals and two assists for seven points through five games. Through 39 games, he has scored 29 goals with 30 assists for 59 points as a + 22 which puts him on pace for another very successful season.

Important Stretch of Games In January For Oilers

The second half of the season is set to begin within the next couple of games and it will be imperative for the Oilers to try to bank as many points as possible as the team will face a break in February with the Four Nations face off.

These tournaments can sometimes disrupt this flow of the season and cause teams to lose their momentum.

Hopefully, the month of January will be positive for the Oilers, and they can walk into February knowing that they have secured their playoff spot for the time being.
