On a recent episode of Oilersnation Everyday podcast, host Tyler Yaremchuk Feels that the Oilers should take a stab at acquiring Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson as the Oilers seek to improve their depth.

Much has been made over the past couple of months regarding Robertson and the Maple Leafs as he has requested a trade from the organization due to unhappiness on how he's been treated. General manager Brad Treliving has reached out to numerous NHL general managers to seek out a trade which could not come together due to the lack of interest.

Robertson has been in and out of the lineup and last season was his most games played in the NHL with 56, while scoring 14 goals with 13 assists for 27 points it was a + 4 with 11 minutes and 23 seconds of average ice time.

The 23-year-old forward was drafted by the Leafs in 2019, second round 53rd overall pick. Regardless of his current play, he is forward with great potential and the Leafs would be hesitant to give up on this potential even if he has requested a trade. It's safe to say the Maple Leafs would be looking for a high draft pick or a top prospect for this player as he is now signed for a one year $875,000 contract.

The Oilers who lost Dylan Holloway thanks to an offer sheet from St Louis, would certainly benefit from a player like Robertson who has a laser beam for a shot and has great speed in his skating. It remains to be seen on whether Stan Bowman and Treliving can make a deal or Bowman is interested but many feel a trade is still imminent even though he did sign.
