The Oilers had been rumored to be busy on the trade front and looking across the league for any help possible as the team was looking for depth.
Through 73 games last year he had scored six goals with 16 assists which should help the Oilers in secondary scoring which they so badly lack. The team has been leaning on their top stars including Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl while the rest of the team continues to struggle to score goals.
His cost is very low as he is a $1 million player and Oilers management hope that he can regain some of his scoring touch and overall offensive play.
Playing on his final year of his current contract, there's absolutely no risk to the Oilers and it's safe to say that if he does not workout, Bowman can place him back on waivers.
The Oilers closed out there Eastern Canada swing as they went 1-2 against the Maple Leafs, Canadiens and the Senators.
The team will now head back to Rogers Place where they will face off against Krill Kaprizov and his Minnesota Wild when the game will take place on Thursday November 21st at 9:00 PM eastern.
