This move was expected, and will give Broberg and Erne an opportunity to join the AHL's Bakersfield Condors in their playoff run. Dylan Holloway and Sam Gagner however, will remain with the Oilers as the roster size expands.
It's feels very unlikely Gagner could get into any playoff games barring any injuries, considering the fact that he's barely played with the team since acquiring Corey Perry. Holloway on the other hand could easily earn some looks in the lineup, as he brings an element of speed and youth in the bottom six that could translate very well in the playoffs.
Last night after Vegas shockingly choked a game against the Anaheim Ducks, the Oilers will now slot in against the Los Angeles Kings in the first round for the third year in a row. The matchup has clearly proven to be a good one for the Oilers, who have been able to handle the Kings both times so far. The team can't get complacent though, as the Kings will be hungrier than ever to pull off an upset. Buckle up Oilers fans!
