Oilers players have been getting onto the ice as training camp is set to open within the next week and during the scrimmage with Connor McDavid, Lavoie will continue to make his case that he should remain with the Oilers as he worked well with McDavid.
According to eliteprospects.com, the 23-year-old right winger who stands at six foot 4 and 216 lbs was drafted by the Oilers in 2019, second round 38th overall. The website explains that he is a large and skilled player and has a standout release and extremely accurate shot that will make him a capable scorer.
Last season with the Bakersfield Condors, he played 66 games, scoring 28 goals with 22 assists for 50 points and had 64 penalty minutes but was a + 1.
The Oilers organization will have to make key decisions on certain players on whether to keep them or to cut them loose through the waiver wire. It appears that Lavoie may have the upper hand and hopes that he can make an impression that will last and keep him with the Oilers as long as possible.
The Oilers 2024 rookie camp which will be held in Penticton BC, will begin on Friday September 13th through Monday September 16th.
