Oilers forward Zach Hyman's spot on the upcoming Team Canada roster is being doubted due to his slow start this year, and today at practice, Hyman opened up about his feelings.

Hyman said that it'd be an incredible honour to be selected, but his focus is on healing from his current injury and helping the Oilers.

»Listen, it'd be a huge, huge honour to be on that team obviously and represent Canada For me, it's something you can't focus on as a player. You get a call, that's an unbelievable honour. If you don't, you cheer for Canada Right now my focus is on getting back to being healthy, and to get in the lineup.»

There's been no details shared about the nature of Hyman's injury, but the most recent update from the Oilers revealed that Hyman and Arvidsson will join the team on their road trip, and after expected to return after this weekend's games.

Last season, Zach Hyman's incredible 54 goal season propelled him into conversations to make Team Canada as Connor McDavid's primary winger.

Unfortunately, Hyman's seen a significant drop off this season. In 20 games this season, Hyman's only scored 3 goals and 8 points.

Hyman's extended scoring slump this season has caused some significant doubt about him making Team Canada, with many writing off Hyman's last year as a fluke.

However, Hyman has still been getting chances this year, and they eventually will begin to find the net again. Corey Perry made a great observation of the chemistry value Hyman brings to the international tournament.

»Those competitions, you need chemistry right away. It's five games or six games, and then it's over. So you need guys that know each other, guys that play together I think he's gonna be there, and he's gonna be on Connor's wing.»

The full rosters for the Four Nations Faceoff is set to be released on December 4th, so Oilers fans will soon find out if Hyman made the cut.

For now, Hyman's right to only focus on what he can actually control: getting healthy, getting back in the lineup, and helping the Oilers win games.
