Earlier this evening, the Vancouver Canucks managed to knock off the Nashville Predators in six games as they had won a 1-0 shutout. David amber host of Sportsnet revealed shortly afterwards that the start date for game one of round two will be on Tuesday May 7th.
As the all Canadian playoff series is being set, NHL playoff schedulers have their work cut out for them as they try to fit everything in to the same venues especially concert season as it has begun for the summer.
Vancouver will have home ice in this series be hosting
Pearl Jam on Saturday May
4th and Monday May 6th which has caused the decision to move game one to Tuesday.
It remains to be seen on whether the extended break for the Oilers a detriment or for the team a blessing could be as they prepare their game plan against the Canucks. Certainly, a longer layoff would be better in the earlier rounds as it will give the teams a chance to heal their wounds and gained some rest as many teams had numerous games at the end of the season and their first round.
In the meantime, both teams will be watching game film and studying each others styles in hopes of taking the series.
