Zach Kassian describes legendary celebration with Oilers fan in 2017

It was a moment in time where a picture speaks a thousand words as former Oilers right winger Zack Kassian describes a memorable moment of celebration with an Oilers fan in 2017.

Kassian, with a guest on the Oilers nation Everyday and he was asked what went through his mind as he screamed at the top of his lungs in joy while a fan on the opposite side of the glass did the same. Both men looked at one another as they celebrated.

«I got a breakaway and then got lucky because I didn't really have anything to shoot at,» said Zack Kassian when recapping the moment. «It managed to squeak five-hole. I was going pretty fast and had nowhere to go but into the boards. I just remember he stood up with his beer in his hands, celebrating. I kind of blacked out, then just started screaming, and he was screaming, while looking at each other dead in the eyes. It was a pretty cool experience.»

Kassian describes the Oilers fans in the playoffs

To add to his experience, Kassian managed to meet that same fan when he attended a signing at Harley-Davidson in Edmonton.

«I didn't really think anything of it, but then I did a signing at Harley Davidson in Edmonton, and I got to meet the guy. He brought the picture, and he was a great guy. Looking back, it was a cool moment.»

Kassian's interview also mentioned on how loud Oilers fans are during playoff games as the team entered the playoffs in 2017 which surprised Kassian along with many of his teammates.

Kassian spent seven seasons with the Oilers and had his best with the team in 2019-2020 when he played 59 games, scoring 15 goals with 19 assists for 34 points and had 69 penalty minutes.
