The Alberta-born Rempe came to Edmonton this offseason to meet up with Laraque. In a short video they shared, Rempe was drilling uppercuts at Laraque's padded hand.
Despite using his size effectively and always being ferocious enough to get into a fight, Rempe actually needed some help with his fighting techniques. If he can learn some real moves from Laraque and contain himself more next season, the league will be on notice.
At 22 years old, Rempe quickly became one of the most feared enforcers due to his massive frame and willingness to drop the gloves with anyone, anytime. In just 17 games, Rempe fought many of the league's biggest enforcers and racked up 71 penalty minutes. He seemed to be on a one-man mission to bring back fighting in hockey.
Even though he plays for the Rangers, it's awesome to see a homegrown kid literally fight his way to make the NHL. He's bringing back the old rules of hockey, and plenty of fans love to see it.
