Demko injury puts Canucks season in jeopardy.

After an overachieving season last year, the Canucks are gearing up to build on that momentum and improve their season standings. The Canucks fell in the second round last year, which was a great showing for a team without their star goaltender. Some troubling rumours have come out about Demko's health already, which could be very worrying for a team looking to take the next step.

This could be terrible news for Vancouver, as Demko has often stole games for them in crucial moments. Demko has absolutely been vezina caliber in net for the Canucks and will be a massive loss.

On top of that, the injury sounds like it is a very bad case scenario for the team. It sounds like it could be an ACL injury, which could require surgery and keep him out for majority of the season.

If this is the case, the Canucks have a huge decision to make. Either keep Demko out for those months and risk missing playoffs, or risk further aggravation and play him despite the chances of worse injury.

The Canucks have to decide if they think the roster they've built is good enough to get them to the playoffs, where they could bring him back fully healthy and look to upset higher seeded teams. Silovs got his extension after a great job backing up Demko and replacing him during his injury last year, so the team may look to lean on him again.

Whatever they choose to do this is terrible news for the Canucks, as Demko was looking to have a bounceback season from his injury last year. If this becomes a pattern for the Canucks it could be awful roadblock as they try and continue to improve year over year.
