11 Years ago today marks a very special date in Oilers and NHL history, when forward Sam Ganger ''LIT IT UP'', tallying up 8-points in one game with four goals and four assists against the Chicago Blackhawks in a 8-4 win.

Sam Ganger spent his first seven years throughout the NHL in an Oilers jersey, making a name for himself while putting up consistent numbers. During the 2012-13 season came Sam Ganger's best game ever, making him one of thirteen NHL players to ever record an 8-point game. He also tied two Oilers legends, Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey for most points in an Oilers game EVER!

He registered the first 8-point game in 23 seasons...as he picked up 4-4-8 as the

beat Chicago 8-4.
A great night for a great guy...!

Ganger is still playing in Canada with the Winnipeg Jets, having a 3rd line role while posting up solid numbers. You have to wonder if when the 33-year old decides to retire, if he'll possibly be interested in doing so with the Oilers on a one-year term.
