During last season, Jakob Pelletier was in danger of being buried by Darryl Sutter. However, he has received a fair chance at ice time under new Head Coach Ryan Huska.

Then imagine going through all that, only for a dirty hit to put you out of commission. That is the reality Jakob Pelletier lives in.

Jakob Pelletier is shaken up after he took this hit from behind. He went down the tunnel to the locker room.

His arm was limp at his side as he left the ice. Bad stuff.

The Calgary Flames' 29th and 26th overall pick, Pelletier, was lit up last night in a bout against the Seattle Kraken in pre-season hockey.

As you can see, Marian Studenic hit Pelletier with a dirty hit straight into the boards.

Pretty late on this but Marian Studenic was given five minutes and a game for his hit on Pelletier.

Pelletier not on the bench to start the second, unsurprisingly.

«It's an upper body injury and doctors will do some stuff with him tomorrow and we'll have a better idea of what it is,» said coach Ryan Huska, opting not to shed any light on what looked like a shoulder injury.

«At this time of the year you don't want to lose anybody. We'll hope he's going to be back with us sooner than later, but will evaluate tomorrow.»

Pelletier, who stood at only 5'9", was manhandled by Studenic, resulting in an arm injury. Studenic would, of course, be ejected from the game.

There's a possibility Studenic might face penalties from the NHLPA, along with a suspension.
