As a result, NHL Insider Elliote Friedman has sounded the alarm about a possible trade involving the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers.

As a result, it appears that Kent Hughes and Ken Holland are discussing a trade for veteran goalkeeper Jake Allen.

Elliotte Friedman on the Edmonton Oilers interest in trading for the Habs Jake Allen.

In addition to Allen, Friedman mentioned Juuse Saros and Jordan Binnington as being in the Oilers' sights, but at this point, Saros and Binnington may be the most attainable.

Having held the crease for the past 3 seasons in Montreal, Allen has started the season with a .910 save percentage, a massive improvement over Jack Campbell.

This season, Allen has played 6 games for the Canadiens and has a 3-2-1 record.
