For those that follow the Eastern Conference, one of the more spicier rivalries comes between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals. With many of the team's top stars growing up playing against each-other there's been a mutual hate that's built up.
Two players of this rivalry that know each other quite well are Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Kris Letang and Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin. Letang's had the job of trying to contain the great eight from getting on the scoreboard while also being an offensive threat himself.
Ovechkin, who's known as one of the most intense players in the League is also one of the most caring. Before the Capitals and Penguins would go to battle Thursday night Ovi would take a moment to skate over to Letang and see how he's been considering all the issues Letang has been going through, it was definitely a nice gesture by Ovechkin.
Letang has endured his second stroke of his life, suffered a lower-body injury and has also lost his father all throughout the past two months.
The game itself was very entertaining with the Capitals picking up a 3-2 shootout win in another instant classic between these two teams.
