The recent Free Agency period has passed quickly, and it's likely that the Edmonton Oilers will turn to trades to optimize their available cap space.

There are two players on the Edmonton Oilers team who may be at risk of being traded, as Ken Holland seeks to maintain the team's competitive position.

One of these players is Cody Ceci, who is a skilled defenseman capable of playing in the top-4 when he's healthy. Ceci has valuable penalty experience, making him a desirable asset for any team. However, it appears that Ceci may be the odd man out as the Oilers explore options to boost their defense, with Brett Pesce as a target.

This next player is if the Oilers take an approach like the Tampa Bay Lightning did, when their general manager traded away their future and top prospects in exchange for key assets, which lead them to back-to-back Stanley Cups.

Xavier Bourgault is a promising prospect who was drafted in 2021 and is considered one of the top prospects in the Oilers' pool. In 62 games with the Bakersfield Condors, the 20-year-old scored 13 goals and earned 34 points. Bourgault could be traded for a larger asset if the need arises, although he's the organizations top prospect, if Ken Holland is in �win now' mode, it will come with some sacrificial moves.

Both of these players could potentially provide valuable assets or cap space for the Oilers if Ken Holland chooses to utilize them through trades.
