Bedard goes down the tunnel after massive hit and Blackhawks get revenge
Moments ago in a game between the Chicago Blackhawks and New Jersey Devils, chaos ensued when Blackhawks' rookie Connor Bedard took a hard hit and had to leave the game.
Bedard was carrying the puck across the blue line into the offensive zone when he was lined up by Devils' defenceman Brendan Smith for an open ice collision. It was a clean hit, but Bedard got up awkwardly and immediately left the ice.
With veteran Nick Foligno on the ice for the Blackhawks, he led the team in the response to the hit by immediately jumping on Brendan Smith to start a scrum behind the Devils' net.
At the time of writing, no updates are known about Bedard's condition after he left the game.
