Connor McDavid Calls Out The NHL Player Safety to Lay Punishment on a Golden Knight
The Edmonton Oilers claimed a resounding 4-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night, but the game was marred by a controversial incident that has everyone talking.
After the final whistle, Oilers star player Connor McDavid publicly called for action from the NHL player safety committee against Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo.
Pietrangelo laid a vicious lumberjack slash on Leon Draisaitl's wrist, an act that McDavid deemed unsportsmanlike and unacceptable.
"I would like to see it reviewed and a suspension. That was not a hockey play," McDavid said in a post-game interview.
As fans and analysts debate the appropriate response to Pietrangelo's actions, all eyes will be on the NHL player safety committee in the coming days.
