Barry Trotz leading the Nashville Predators' rebuild may result in a team that differs greatly from David Poile's vision.

That may mean one former Edmonton Oiler may be on the market in order for Trotz to gain assets for the rebuild.

The #Oilers have acquired defenceman Mattias Ekholm & a 2024 sixth-round pick from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenceman Tyson Barrie, forward Reid Schaefer, a 2023 first-round pick & a 2024 fourth-round pick.

According to Shayna Goldman from The Athletic, Tyson Barrie, a former Oiler, is now on the trade block as a Nashville Predator.

The team has a surplus of defensive prospects, including Spencer Stastney, Jake Livingstone, and Marc Del Gaizo, competing for 8 team spots. Michael Gallagher of Nashville Hockey Now speculates that a trade may be possible.

In order to address their ongoing power-play struggles, the Edmonton Oilers may want to consider exploring the possibility of a three-team trade that would result in the return of defenseman Tyson Barrie to their roster.

Such a move could potentially provide the team with the boost they need to achieve greater success and more consistent performance on the ice.
