Could the Edmonton Oilers be interested in this former 1st round pick?
The Edmonton Oilers are almost done putting together their team for the 2023-2024 season, but they still need more depth at the center position. To help find suitable candidates, they could try out players on a Professional Tryout (PTO) basis.
One player they may be interested in pursuing, as reported by NHL Insider Kurt Leavins, is Nolan Patrick, who was a first-round pick in 2017.
Currently an unrestricted free agent, Patrick missed the entire 2022-2023 season due to injury. In the previous season, he only played in 25 games and scored two goals with seven points.
Despite this, Patrick is still young at 24 years old and has the potential to regain his former form if he can stay healthy.
If he is able to make the team, Patrick would be an excellent addition to provide depth at the center position.
