Derek Ryan signed a 2-year $1.8 million dollar contract ($900 thousand a year) with the Edmonton Oilers. Ryan is coming off a 20-point season and is a veteran.
Many people are not complaining at, I guess at that price, why not?
Well, after being re-signed by the Oilers, Derek Ryan made a bold statement.
The 36-year-old thinks the Edmonton Oilers can win a championship in the next two years. Which I agree with. If Ken Holland can add a couple more pieces this off-season while maintaining young players like forward Ryan McLeod and defenseman Evan Bouchard, they'll have a good shot at winning the Stanley Cup.
