Darnell Nurse has had quite the rough go as of late, the Oilers ''top'' defensemen who holds a $9.25 million annual salary has struggled more then ever, costing the Oilers to struggle on multiple occasions. Nurse has looked very off, confidence wise with and without the puck, he seems to be very lost.

Nurse had several turnovers in the Oilers' most recent shootout loss to the Blues, two lead to goals, and one of them was with 18 seconds remaining in the third period while the Oilers were on a powerplay- the Blues tied the game off of Nurse's mistake.

Nurse addressed the issue during his post-game interview, and it's clear he's well aware his play as of late does not meet the expected standard.

After the Oilers' loss to the Blues, an interesting, but terrible stat surfaced regarding Nurse's stats this season..

Darnell Nurse has been on the ice for 47% of all goals against this season.

He makes $9.25M/season.

Nurse, out of six defensemen, has been on the ice for 47% of the Oilers goals against this season throughout 31 games played. You can take into consideration that Nurse gets the most minutes each and every night out of any defensemen, but regardless this is not what you want to see for your teams third highest paid player at $9.25 million per season, especially when Cale Makar and Roman Josi both make less money..
