Double hip surgery hinders forward's reunion with Oilers

The day has arrived as the new NHL season begins. Training camps opened today for all 32 NHL teams, with players filtering into their arenas and practice facilities for their physicals. General managers and coaching staff are taking notes on who will be ready to play this year and are organizing their teams into squads.

Over the past few weeks, numerous teams have added players on professional tryouts (PTOs) to their rosters to evaluate their potential contributions. News has emerged from the Oilers regarding Sam Gagner and his health.

This marks Gagner's third stint with the Oilers, where he spent nine years of his career. The 34-year-old center has played 1015 games, scoring 192 goals with 327 assists, accumulating a total of 519 points.

Time will tell whether he can secure a spot on the team and whether the double hip surgery will impact his NHL career.
