Ethan Bear Gets Dream Come True and Then Suffers The Worst
In April of this year, it was announced by NHL Insider Rick Dhaliwal that Ethan Bear would be playing with Team Canada in the IIHF World Hockey Championships in Tampere, Finland.
Bear last played for Team Canada in U18 in 2015 while being drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the same year. Bear would spend three seasons in Edmonton before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2021 for Warren Foegle.
You can see Ethan Bear getting boarded and leaving the ice with an unconfirmed injury.
So far, there has been no update, which is not a good sign. It's possible this could be a tournament-ending injury.
Bear had a successful first season with the Vancouver Canucks and will be approaching RFA status, with a possible qualifying offer of $2.2 Million, should the Canucks decide to exercise that option.
