Ethan Bear is now an UFA
Several players on the Vancouver Canucks team received qualifying offers, but Ethan Bear was not among them due to his recent injury at the IIHF World Hockey Championships.
To qualify for an offer of $2.2 Million, Bear needed to be able to return to the team by mid-December, which unfortunately wasn't possible.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have extended qualifying offers to the following three players:
- Akito Hirose
- Nils Höglander
- Vitali Kravtsov
The club did not issue qualifying offers to:
- Ethan Bear
- Travis Dermott
- Carson Focht The club would have needed Bear to return much sooner in order to make it work.
However, there is still hope that another team will recognize Bear's potential and take advantage of the many NHL games that he has yet to play.
