Like most sports the NHL has a very strict standard when it comes to NHL player's dress code. One player who's been very critical of the NHL's policy on dress code is Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane.

Kane who's been in trouble previously in his career for showing up to practice in track suits was on the popular podcast show Oilers Nation, where he would share his brutally honest opinion on the NHL's dress code and how it needs to change saying:

We'll that's the thing about suits and like the dress code in the NHL. I mean just cause a guy looks like he's got a suit on doesn't mean he looks good or looks professional in my eyes. It looks like shit. You know what I mean? There's been a couple guys I play with in the past I mean holy cow this is ridiculous. He looks like he's wearing a tarp. So you know I never really understood the dress code, I think we should be able to wear what we want. Because if it was my choice I would wear suits to games sure. It wouldn't be 82 games though it would be like 41. You know I think it would be cool if we could be able to integrate different styles and different guy's sense of fashion into our sport, it would help grow our sport, so I really think we're limiting our selves. - Evander Kane
