Evander Kane's outreach to the community continues to shine.

Despite the personal issues he has faced over the past few years, one thing is certain: since his arrival with the Edmonton Oilers, his community involvement has not gone unnoticed by the fan base and the media. His friendship and ongoing support of Cecily Ecklund, who has been battling brain cancer, led him to join her and her family with a trip to Disneyland.
He has consistently been by her side, attending birthday parties, an Edmonton Elk's game, and numerous other occasions where he has spent time with this young girl and her family. Kane has also participated in several radio interviews, offering high praise for the city of Edmonton and its welcoming citizens.
Now, he has shifted his focus to Sturgeon Lake, an area recently ravaged by wildfires. Kane made the decision to visit the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation and conducted a meet and greet with the locals.
As his community involvement continues to grow and evolve, it is expected that Kane will remain with the Oilers for the foreseeable future, as his current contract spans three more seasons at $5.125 million per year. We hope that his generosity of time continues to remain steadfast.
