Evander Kane knows how a gruesome injury could threaten one 's career. His story is one to remember as he suffered a horrific wrist injury after a player cut it with a skate.

Luckily after successful surgery or two and excellent rehabilitation, he returned to the game and finished out the season and the playoffs.

Fast forward to today, there was another incident with a skate that would send chills down anyone's spine. Canadian player Joe Velano decided to take a stomp onto Switzerland captain Nino Niederreiter's leg.

The officials missed the call and Velano got away scot-free.

Kane felt that fighting should be returned to the game to restore some of the checks and balances that the refereeing is not taking care of. After watching the replay of the video you can see need a writer knew exactly what he was doing even though he said that it was an accident.

As most of these are NHL players playing in this tournament, players will have long memories after this tournament is done with that injury and who it came from.
