On his Instagram, Barrie posted the reveal of his beer called Chilly Ones.
At the moment it's unknown where the beer brand will be released. Barrie was born in British Columbia and has played all across North America in his career, and is now with the Nashville Predators. With the regulations on alcohol sales, it may be years until his brand is up and running in both Canada and the USA. However, Chilly Ones will be making their debut in a pop up shop at the NHL All Star Game in a partnership with Gretzky's Basement in Toronto.
While this news is definitely exciting for Barrie, on the ice has been a struggle in Nashville this year. He's frequently been a healthy scratch throughout the year and has seen his playing time significantly decrease, leading to him requesting a trade earlier this season. Nashville's front office allowed Barrie and his agent to facilitate a trade, but at 32 years old and owed $4.5M for the rest of this season, no teams seem interested in Barrie.
Honestly, creating and launching a beef brand while consistently being a healthy scratch isn't a great look on Barrie's hockey career, but might be good for him in retirement.
