Goaltender Rushed to The Hospital After Taking a Skate Blade to the Throat

It was a scary situation for the family and teammates of a 15 year old minor hockey league goaltender, a very dangerous injury in a game this morning in a Russian youth hockey league was endured.

According to Sport24.ru, the 15 year old was goaltender and his team were playing in the championship game when the goaltender would take a skate to the neck that cut him open and was bleeding in his crease.

The young man was rushed to a local hospital and had emergency surgery in order to fix the gash in his neck saving his life.

The report states the boy is now awake and in stable condition, although medical professionals continue to monitor him closely in an intensive care unit. As you can see in the video below, the goalie was eventually removed from the ice on a stretcher after a couple of minutes of being on the ice. You can see the pool of blood left behind when he is finally moved.

We have now learned the goaltender is awake and listed in stable condition. Dr's have admitted the young man to the intensive care so he can be monitored closely by
Medical staff.
