Despite his impressive stats, including 153 points, a +22 rating, 22 power-play goals, and 11 game-winning goals, they believe that McDavid has not yet reached his full potential as a player. McDavid's record has been consistently elite since his second season in the NHL.
As he is still in his prime, there is room for him to continue to grow and maybe even surpass Wayne Gretzky's record of 200 points in a season.
McDavid has not reached his peak yet, so there is always a chance that he will keep progressing.
