The Oilers had today off and worked on their game and team building at their practice facility. At Rogers Place, head coach Jay Woodcroft spoke to reporters about how he hopes to improve the team in the long run.

Zach Hyman's conduct as a player and what he brings to the table every day as a player received a stellar and raving review from Woodcroft. Additionally, other Oilers players discussed Hyman's hard work and how he has been rewarded for it.

Additionally, Woodcroft stressed the importance of consistency for the Oilers, both in their game and with their teammates.

Furthermore, the head coach believes that days off between games will allow him and his staff to develop creative messages that will help the players improve their performance and understand the vision.

With a number of their good players returning from injury such as Evander Kane, this will bode well for the Oilers' playoff run as they currently sit in the first wildcard spot with 57 points and 48 games played.

Colorado and Nashville do have games in hand and have an outside chance of making the playoffs, however, it will be a horse race and photo finish till the end.
