LA Kings Fans Call For Connor McDavid to be Suspended After Controversial Hit
In Connor McDavid's game against the Los Angeles Kings tonight, there was a major highlight that was controversial.
It all began at the beginning of the first period when McDavid entered the Los Angeles zone and made a beeline straight for LA defenseman Mikey Anderson.
Anderson had his head turned away from McDavid and had no idea he was coming toward him. McDavid finished his check in which Anderson was laying on the ice for a few minutes trying to get his bearings.
The officials decided to huddle and give McDavid a boarding call for two minutes.
This call led to a firestorm of comments on Twitter in which many Los Angeles king fans were very upset with the lack of time given to this call.
McDavid himself weighed in on the hit and felt that he did not try to hurt him and felt it was a clean hit.
The Oilers shut out the Kings 2-0. They remain at home to face the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, April 1st. Game time will be at 10:00 PM eastern
