Leon Draisaitl response to the teams blowout against Vancouver goes viral
During their 1st regular season game in 2023-2024, the Edmonton Oilers were defeated by the Vancouver Canucks 8-1.
Having held regular captain skates since September 5th, the Oilers were heavily hyped for the start of the regular season.
Although the team failed to show up, it looked terrible on the backend. The team practiced on Friday.
During a media availability, Draisaitl spoke about the disappointing game with local media:
It helps sometimes to get smacked around, he said in his humble response.
It is better to acknowledge that there will be work to be done rather than being too arrogant or overconfident.
On Saturday, the Oilers will have another chance to put things right against the Vancouver Canucks.
In order to prove to the hockey world that the hype is real, Draisaitl and the Oilers need to prove the hype is true by beating the Canucks.
«Sometimes it's good to get smacked a little.» Quote of the day from Leon Draisaitl talking about the loss in Vancouver.
