Major News For Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl Ahead of 2026 Olmpics?
After a long absence, the NHL is working to send players to the Winter Olympics in 2026. NHLPA Executive Director Marty Walsh expressed his commitment to making it happen, collaborating with Commissioner Gary Bettman and the IIHF.
The NHL last participated in the Olympics in 2014, with Canada winning gold. Changes in the agreement kept NHL players from the 2018 Games. COVID-19 concerns led to their absence in 2022.
However, both sides are focused on Milan 2026. The World Cup of Hockey is also on the horizon, likely in 2025 due to Russia's involvement uncertainty. Fans eagerly await the return of international hockey battles.
