With the NHL season closing in on the halfway mark, The NHL All-Star break and game are on the horizon. Over the past few seasons many prominent NHL stars have decided to take a pass on the game and focus on resting and healing their wounds.
One player who has expressed doing this often is Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin. For this coming All Star game it was tweeted on where he stands and if he will participate.
Ovechkin has been a fixture for the All-Star game over the years as he has appeared in 13 games. At the age of 38 and his career beginning to slow down, I would expect Ovi to forgo more of these games and let the younger groups of stars be involved as players like McDavid, Matthews and Hughes are taking over as the face of the league.
The 2024 NHL All Star weekend will be held the first week of February with the All-Star Game on February 3rd.
